Biography
Raymond Leroy Coleman (June 4, 1922 – September 19, 2010) was a professional baseball outfielder. He played five seasons in Major League Baseball, between 1947 and 1952, for the St. Louis Browns (three separate stints), Philadelphia Athletics, and Chicago White Sox. Signed by the Browns as an amateur free agent in 1940, Coleman made his major league debut in 1947. Coleman put together two consecutive years with 20-plus doubles (25 in 1950 and 24 in 1951), while finishing second in the American League with 12 triples in 1951.
