Kwame James Brown (born March 10, 1982 in Charleston, South Carolina) is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Charlotte Bobcats. The 6 ft 11 in (2.11 m), 270 lb (120 kg; 19 st) center was the 1st overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards, and was the first number one draft pick to be selected straight out of high school. He has also played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies, and Detroit Pistons.
