Biography

David Rotchford Stenhouse (born September 12, 1933) is a former pitcher in Major League Baseball who played for the Washington Senators from 1962 to 1964. Stenhouse batted and threw right-handed. He is the father of outfielder Mike Stenhouse. Stenhouse, a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, was an amateur free agent signing of the Chicago Cubs in 1955. After spending 1958 in the minor leagues, Stenhouse was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds organization. On December 15, 1961, Stenhouse along with Bob Schmidt were traded to the Washington Senators for Johnny Klippstein and Marty Keough. In a three-season career, Stenhouse posted a 16-28 record with 214 strikeouts and a 4.14 ERA in 76 games, including 56 starts, 12 complete games, three shutouts, one save, and 372.0 innings pitched. Stenhouse made the American League All-Star team in 1962. After his professional playing days were over, Stenhouse coached the Brown University baseball team from 1981 to 1990. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Stenhouse
