Biography
Samuel Ryan Jacobson (born July 22, 1975 in Cottage Grove, Minnesota) is an American professional basketball player. He plays at guard or forward. He formerly played for the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, and Minnesota Timberwolves. Jacobson played for Park High School in Cottage Grove, Minnesota and was named Minnesota Mr. Basketball in his senior year. He attended the University of Minnesota, for whom he helped lead the Golden Gophers to the 1997 NCAA Final Four as a junior and a National Invitation Tournament title as a senior. While at Minnesota, Jacobson was most known for his tremendous vertical jump, ability to score quickly, and calm demeanor. Jacobson was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1st round with the 26th pick of the 1998 NBA Draft. In 2006–2007, Jacobson played in Andrea Costa Imola Basket, Italy (LegaDue).
