Biography
Walter Bond (born February 1, 1969 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American former professional basketball player. A 6'5" shooting guard from the University of Minnesota, Bond was not drafted by an NBA team but did manage to play in 3 NBA seasons. He played for Dallas Mavericks (1992/93), Utah Jazz (1993/95) and Detroit Pistons (1994/95). He has also been signed by Minnesota Timberwolves in 1995 and Atlanta Hawks in 1997, but did not play in any NBA games for those clubs. In his NBA career, Bond played in 153 games and scored a total of 873 points. On November 10, 1992, in just his second professional game in the NBA, he scored a career high 25 points as a Maverick against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He has also played professionally in Italy for Cirio Avellino (Serie A2, Jan-Jun '98). Walter is now a motivational speaker, booking over 100 speaking appearances every year in the United States and internationally. Bond had his 1990 NCAA elite 8 ring stolen from him in 1991.
