I grew up in New Orleans. I signed up with the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation to volunteer for sporting events (2 Super Bowls, 4 Final Fours (2 men's, 2 women's), various college athletic tournaments and championships, the Olympic track and field trials, etc.). At the 2003 Super Bowl I had the opportunity to get a signature from Mr. Lanier, and the autograph ball was available.
